I took over MBM Farms in 2003, after my beloved husband, Michael passed away. How I miss him so. I do enjoy my life as a "mommy" to my 5 kids, Sunny (Sun Conure parrot), Cutie (Chihuahua), Pretty, (Chihuahua), Sassy (long-haired Chihuahua), and Missy (Chihuahua). I take my "babies" with me every time I go to the farm. And they all love to eat pecans, as is shown in one of the photos of Sunny enjoying one!
I was born and reared in El Paso, Texas, and am one of 6 children born in 1960. I graduated from Ysleta High School and The University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Business Management. This degree has been useful in managing the farm and other personal business decisions I've had to make on a daily basis!
Before taking over the farm, I worked for the Texas Department of Human Resources, now known as Health and Human Services for almost 18 years. I married my true heart, Michael A. Maros, M.D. in 1995, and since his passing found myself running a pecan farm. Who would've known that my life would lead to this? But.... I enjoy it and I love what I do!
I credit my employees for assisting me in running this farm, and for all their hard work and sweat that goes into this farm. Cold winters, hot summers, and year-round, they are out there working very hard.
My wishes are for this farm to continue to prosper and grow. I pray that I have made my family proud that I have elected to run this farm instead of selling it, and I will continue to do so in their memory!
